Psalm 34:4-6
I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.  Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.  This poor man called, and the Lord heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles.

NLT: I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me.  He freed me from all my fears.  Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy; no shadow of shame will darken their faces.  In my desperation I prayed and the Lord listened; he saved me from all my troubles.

2 Peter 1:16-17
We did not follow cleverly invented stories when we told you about the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty.  For he received honor and glory from God the Father when the voice came to him from the Majestic Glory, saying, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”

NLT:  For we were not making up clever stories when we told you about the powerful coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.  We saw his majestic splendor with our own eyes when he received honor and glory from God the Father.  The voice from the majestic glory of God said to him, “This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy.”

John 17:3
“Now this is eternal life; that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.”

NLT:  “And this is the way to have eternal life—to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth.”

Psalm 139:14
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

NLT:  Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!  Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.
