Psalm 139:23-24

Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.  See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

NLT:  Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.  Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.

1 Peter 5:6

Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand.

NLT:  So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor.

Job 1:21 (NKJV)

And he said: ….”The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.”

NLT:  He said, “I came naked from my mother’s womb, and I will be naked when I leave.  The Lord gave me what I had, and the Lord has taken it away.  Praise the name of the Lord!”
