Matthew
6:34
“Therefore
do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
NLT: “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow
will bring its own worries. Today’s
trouble is enough for today.”
John
10:10
“The thief
comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life,
and have it to the full.”
NLT: “The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and
destroy. My purpose is to give them a
rich and satisfying life.”
James
4:13-15
Now listen,
you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year
there, carry on business and make money.”
Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little
while and then vanishes. Instead, you
ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.”
NLT: Look
here, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we are going to a certain town and will
stay there a year. We will do business
there and make a profit.” How do you
know what your life will be like tomorrow?
Your life is like the morning fog—it’s here a little while, then it’s
gone. What you ought to say is, “If the
Lord wants us to, we will live and do this or that.”
