Matthew 1:21, 23

“She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins…The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel”—which means, “God with us.”

NLT:  “And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.  Look!  The virgin will conceive a child!  She will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel, which means ‘God is with us.’”

John 10:10 (NKJV)

“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.  I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

NLT:  “The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy.  My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.”

Acts 2:28

You have made known to me the paths of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence.

NLT:  You have shown me the way of life, and you will fill me with the joy of your presence.
