John
17:20-23
“My prayer
is not for them alone. I pray also for
those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be
one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may
believe that you have sent me. I have
given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let
the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.”
NLT: “I am praying not only for these disciples
but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message. I pray that they will all be one, just as you
and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will
believe you sent me. I have given them
the glory you gave me, so they may be one as we are one. I am in them and you are in me. May they experience such perfect unity that
the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love
me.”
Isaiah
40:29-31
He gives
strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young
men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they
will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
NLT: He gives power to the weak and strength to
the powerless. Even youths will become
weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the Lord will find new
strength. They will soar high on wings
like eagles. They will run and not grow
weary. They will walk and not faint.
