Genesis
2:7
The Lord God
formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the
breath of life, and the man became a living being.
NLT: Then the Lord God formed the man from the
dust of the ground. He breathed the
breath of life into the man’s nostrils, and the man became a living person.
Psalm
89:15
Blessed are
those who have learned to acclaim you, who walk in the light of your presence,
O Lord.
NLT: Happy are those who hear the joyful call to
worship, for they will walk in the light of your presence, Lord.
Romans
12:1-2
Therefore, I
urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living
sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of
worship. Do not conform any longer to
the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your
mind. Then you will be able to test and
approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
NLT: And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead
with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind
he will find acceptable. This is truly
the way to worship him. Don’t copy the
behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person
by changing the way you think. Then you
will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
