Romans 8:6

The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace.

NLT:  So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death.  But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.

NLT:  “May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace.”

Psalm 46:1-2

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.  Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea.

NLT:  God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.  So we will not fear when earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea.
